Review: Acer Aspire V3-571G
The Acer Aspire V3-571G is one large laptop. Yes, our definition of
large has changed since the Ultrabook. But with a 15.6-inch HD LED
screen and a full-size keyboard, this device is large even in the
traditional sense.

Acer Aspire V3-571G
Specs: Windows Home Basic; 15.6-inch HD-LED backlit TFT LCD; Intel Core i5-2450M; 4 GB DDR3 RAM; 500GB HDD; DVD writer; NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M; BlueTooth 4.0.

The V3's body looks like it's been cut out of granite. But looks can be deceiving, and it is plastic all the way. The keyboard and the strip above it have a silvery chrome finish, which works well since most of the mentioned strip houses the laptop's speakers. And being a system with professionally tuned Dolby Home Theatre, this really matters. Switch on the sound and you will know what we are talking about. For a change we will have to say that the screen is good enough for the speaker-usually it is the other way round. The full-size numeric keyboard will be welcomed by those who are put off by smaller typing space and tiny keys. Considering the shiny and smooth body, the keypad thankfully has a matt finish surface and supports pinch and scroll.
This is no Ultrabook. So the full start up took almost a minute, while the resume took just two seconds. No, this laptop does not have a 3rd generation Intel chip and features the Core i5-2450M which is good for anything that a regular user will need this device for. The Nvidia GEFORCE GT 630M graphics card, meanwhile, will take care of most gaming requirements. The 6-cell 4400mAh battery wasn't all that great as we were not able to squeeze out more than 3.5 hours on a full charge.
BAG IT OR JUNK IT? Full size value for money.
