Apple launches a new smart cover accessory for iPad

Last year, the launch of the iPad 2 also witnessed the launch of the Smart Cover, an iPad specific accessory that only protected the front of the tablet.

On Monday, Apple also released a new smart case that will not only have the smart cover on the front but will also have a case that will protect the back.



The full body cover will be compatible with the iPad 2 and the new iPad. Similar to the earlier smart cover, this will also have a magnetic connection for a perfect fit that wakes the iPad when open and puts it to sleep when close.

It also bundles as a keyboard stand and movie stand when needed. Available in six colours - green, blue, pink, red, dark grey and light grey, the covers are available for purchase for $49 from the Apple Online Store abroad. The Apple online store for shopping gadgets and accessories is not yet available in India.
