
The fiscal deficit in the first four months of the financial year 2014-15 was 3.25 trillion rupees ($53.7 billion), or 61.2 per cent of the full-year target, government data showed on Friday.
The deficit was 62.8 per cent during the comparable period in the previous fiscal year.
Net tax receipts were at 1.47 trillion rupees in the first four months of the current fiscal year to March 2015, while total expenditure was about 5.04 trillion rupees.
