Bharti Airtel shares fall 3 per cent on CBI chargesheet reports

Shares of Bharti Airtel fell 3 per cent on reports of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filing a chargesheet against the company.

Shares of Bharti Airtel on Friday fell 3 per cent on reports of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filing a chargesheet against the company.

Reports on Friday said CBI has filed a chargesheet in connection with alleged irregularities in spectrum allocation during the NDA regime involving three telecom companies, including Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India .

Following the news, shares of the company fell 3.67 per cent to Rs 305.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. It finally ended at Rs 307.15, down 3.08 per cent. At the National Stock Exchange, the stock was down 2.68 per cent to Rs 308.40.

"The stock fell in a knee-jerk reaction to the CBI news," CNI Research CMD Kishor Ostwal said.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex ended at 19,242 - down 211.92 points.
