Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited's profit increases to Rs 921 in Q1

BHEL has an outstanding order book position of Rs 1,33,000 crore at the end of June quarter.

BHEL on Thursday said its net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2012, rose to Rs 921 crore as compared to as compared to Rs 815.5 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. This represents a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in the net profit.

BHEL's total income increased to Rs 8,805.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 7,560.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011. This represents a 17 per cent year-on-year increase in the net profit.

BHEL has an outstanding order book position of Rs 1,33,000 crore at the end of June quarter.

BHEL's shares ended at 212.35 on Thursday on BSE, down 1.80 per cent.
