To mark India's 67th Independence Day (I-Day), British Airways on Tuesday announced a four-day special offer of 15 per cent discount on its business class tickets to London and North America from across its destinations from the country.

The offer available only on the first and club world cabins, starts from August 15 and lasts till August 18 and outbound travel period of September 1 until December 20, the airline said in a statement.

"British Airways marks its 84th year of flying to India this year and we are proud to be sharing such a long legacy with this country. We are delighted to announce our grand offer exclusively designed for our Indian customers," British Airways South Asia regional commercial manager Christopher Fordyce said.

Indian passengers travelling via London-Heathrow will also benefit from the airline's Terminal-5, which provides seamless connections to over 200 destinations in partnership with American Airlines.

"From de-stressing and relaxing before a flight in one of our departure lounges and enjoying drinks in a luxury facial treatment, customers can look forward to stellar service and an overall flying experience with our airline," Fordyce said.

The airline operates 46 flights a week from five Indian cities -- Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi to London (Heathrow) and other destinations across Europe and the US.

"With over 90 years of flying experience behind us, we understand our customers travel requirements and endeavour to enhance their journey with us. We have committed to invest five million pounds in our products and services over the next five years," Fordyce saod.

The proposed investment will be on new aircraft, new cabins, and better lounges around the airline's network.

Funds will also be allocated to improve catering and new technologies to further improve the customer experience.

The British airline has a worldwide route network covering over 150 destinations across 75 countries.
