In a remarkable technological offering, the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will now allow you access to details of your
provident fund account at just a click of the mouse.
The central provident fund organisation has made available a link on its website, which can be used to check account details via SMS on your cell phones.
Your financial queries get answered here According to reports, the organisation's platform was in testing mode internally for the past two months.
EPFO has enabled the feature to bring in transparency, where in an individual can check the deposits being made in his/her provident fund account monthly.
EXPERT ADVICE: Don't withdraw from your PF account earlier All he/she will have to do is log in to the site and share the account number. Any transaction made by the person's company will be shared instantly with him - like a bank statement.
The retirement firm has updated 4.72 crore accounts for 2008-09 ahead of the September deadline set for it. The provident fund accounts are applicable to
9.5% interest rate, as approved by the
finance ministry.
