After TVs, Flipkart starts selling air conditioners, air coolers

After re-entering the large appliance segment with televisions, leading online retailer Flipkart has now started setting air-conditioners and air coolers too. Both air conditioners and air coolers are listed under the electronics, home and kitchen segment on the website and with a new tag.

Under air conditioners, only popular brands are listed. The list includes Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Hitachi, Whirlpool, Blue Star, Voltas, Onida, Daikin and Videocon. While buying, consumers can choose between split and Window or the capacity between less than 1 tonne, 1-1.4 tonne, 1.5 -1.9 tonne, 2 tonne and above. There is also an option of energy star rating stating 2 star, 3 star, 4 star, 5 star and inverter.

The air conditioner home page also makes it easier for consumer to search the ACs based on the newly launched products, energy efficient ACs and cool deals.

Similarly, for air coolers too, popular brands including Bajaj, Khaitan, Kenstar, Symphony and Maharaja are listed yet. Users can choose the type to simplify the search for the product they are looking for.

Similar to televisions, one needs to key in the Pin Code for checking the availability of air conditioners and air coolers available in the particular location. Business Today glanced through many products listed under these two categories and the seller for them was WS Retail.

Consumers can buy these large appliances on EMIs as the same has been listed next to every product. Buyers can choose the time span between 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24 months, depending up on the product. The banks offering EMI options at the moment include ICICI, Citibank, HDFC and AMEX.

Typical to all Flipkart launches, we are looking at building up a large selection, with competitive prices and an excellent service experience. We will be adding many more products and verticals in the coming months.We started listing large appliances on our site in April - with televisions being the first category. Air conditioners and air coolers have been available on Flipkart for a little over a week. "
