FSSAI blacklists 32 products of Kellogg's, Starbucks, Venky's

In what could be considered as after-effects of the Maggi noodle crisis, food regulator FSSAI has blacklisted at least 32 products from Kellogg's, Tata Starbucks and Venky's, found to contain unsafe levels of heavy metals, iron fillings, caffeine, sugar, caramel or salt and have been marked unfit for human consumption.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) handed over a list of as many as 500 products, including 32 from the above mentioned brands, to food safety commissioners of various states on June 4.

A multi-vitamin from Ranbaxy is also on the list of blacklisted products by the food regulator.

Tata Starbucks ' products that have been blacklisted mostly include sauces and syrups like dark caramel sauce and chestnut-flavoured syrup.

Starbuck management issued a statement on Wednesday saying, "Starbucks is committed to complying with the regulations in every market we operate in. Our products meet Starbucks own stringent global quality standards. we are diligently working with the FSSAI to provide the information relating to our pending applications they have asked for.'
