premium digital compact camera , in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs 33,989.
This stylish aluminum and synthetic leather bound camera will be aimed at the top-end luxury segment where price is not much of a concern.
The XF1 features
the new wide-angle f/1.8 Fujinon lens, 4x zoom lens with zoom ring and a 2/3-inch EXR-CMOS sensor and EXR processor. The camera promises good low-light results and crisper results.
With the point and shoot camera sales being eroded by smartphones, Fujifilm believes the compact mirror less segment is bound for growth.
"The segment accounts for about 39 per cent in Japan and seems India could also be headed on the same lines," explained Rohit Pandit, Executive Vice President.
Fujifilm hopes to make a niche for itself in the segment with
its X series cameras.
Pandit said the compact form factor was one of the drivers for the range, but they also had performance similar to the full-frame cameras.
