According to data released by the company, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has sold 3 million units in just 55 days of being launched.
The South Korean mobile handset maker Samsung was betting big on smartphones ever since its release and expects the segment to contribute 15 per cent to the sales volume by the year-end.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is loaded with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, an eight mega pixel camera and a 2MP front camera, Samsung interface, TouchWiz 4.0 and is operated by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest version of Android.
"Over 1,300 Galaxy SII handsets were booked online in 10 days. We have received good response from the market on this device and we expect this model to give 20 per cent volume growth in smartphone sales month-over-month," a Samsung spokesperson said.
The Galaxy SII was available for online booking from May 26 and in open market from June 9. Samsung has 15 devices in its smartphone portfolio in the country.
