General Motors India launched its latest offering,
the Chevrolet Sail (sedan) on Friday morning (February 1). The company had launched a hatchback version, the Sail U-VA, in November last year.
The price of the Sail sedan ranges between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh, and will come in petrol (1.2 l) and diesel (1.3 l) versions.
Built on a new platform designed for emerging markets, and refined by GM's India technical centre, Sail will compete with the likes of Maruti's Dzire, Toyota's Etios, Ford's Classic and M&M's Verito.
It's a tough market, and GM India will hope its latest offering will help its sales go northward.
