HDFC net profit rises 8.8 per cent to Rs 2,064 cr

Private sector housing mortgage lender HDFC Ltd has reported a 8.8 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,064.36 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2014-15.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 1,891.17 crore for the July-September quarter of 2013-14.

Its consolidated income increased from Rs 9,982.71 crore in Q2 of last fiscal to Rs 11,644.08 crore for Q2, 2014-15, it said in a filing to the BSE.

On a standalone basis, the Q2 net income rose by 7.2 per cent to Rs 1,357.56 crore, over Rs 1,266.33 crore in the year-ago period.

"Total income has increased from Rs 5,953.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 to Rs 6,670.67 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014," it said.

The HDFC scrip closed 1.01 per cent higher at Rs 1,031.70 on the BSE on Wednesday.
