Barfi collects Rs 58 cr in first week at box office, Heroine opens well

"Barfi" had a very good showing at the box office in its first week, netting about Rs 57.50 crore. Despite a Bharat Bandh on Thursday and Ganesh Chaturthi on Wednesday, "Barfi" managed attract viewers during the weekdays, with Mumbai and Delhi regions being the big contributors for the film.

"Barfi!" had the third biggest opening of the year at multiplexes after "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Agneepath".

"Barfi!" with Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz , was released on Friday, and the movie garnered around Rs 34 crore at the box office in its first three days.  

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor starrer "Heroine" opened well at the box office on Friday with collections around 55 per cent to 60 per cent at multiplexes.

As compared to "Barfi", "Heroine" has had a wider release with around 2,000 screens.
