The past year has been remarkable for Leena Nair, Executive Director, HR, Hindustan Unilever. She has been tasked with driving diversity across the 160 countries where Unilever has a presence. "I'm really excited. I'm getting a better understanding of diversity and inclusion. It's a whole new skill set and a transformational role for me," she says.
Another achievement was HUL's recent introduction of 'Career by Choice', a programme she oversaw which allows women who have fallen off the career ladder to rejoin the workforce. Most stay away as they do not know how to return after a long hiatus. "It is now entirely possible to sit in one location and do a global job," says Nair.
