After failing miserably with its Touch Pad launched in early 2011, HP has now decided to give a second shot to its tablet business. However, instead of its own Web OS, the new Slate 7 will run on Android Jelly Bean.

This tablet will be powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor paired with 1GB RAM onboard. It will also have a 3 MP rear camera, VGA front facing camera along with Beats Audio.

The 7-inch slate will have a 1024x600p resolution, the usual Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support along with 8GB onboard storage and expandable memory card slot. Priced at $169 for the USA market, we are not sure whether the Slate 7 will make it to the Indian market. But if it does, HP will have to price it right as the market is already cluttered with affordable Android tablets.
