Hyundai Motors is all set to launch its small car Eon later this month to take on Maruti's immensely successful
car Alto and is expected to be priced between Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh (ex-showroom). Alto sells over 35,000 units every month.
Hyundai eyes slot vacated by Maruti 800 Developed keeping in mind the demand for small cars, Eon will be Hyundai's next hatchback on offer to Indian auto market. Eon, which will have a three-cylinder 814cc petrol engine, is expected to rev up Hyundai's sales at the entry-level of the small car segment, where the 14-year-old Santro has been showing signs of decline.
Hyundai launches 'new' Fluidic Verna India's small car market has so far been dominated by Maruti Alto, which is priced at around Rs 2.50 lacs to Rs 3.80 lacs and Chevrolet Spark, that falls in the bracket of Rs 3.09 lacs to Rs 4.46 lacs.
