Jaguar Land Rover global sales up 3 per cent in February

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has reported 3 per cent increase in global sales at 26,855 units in February from the same month last year.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has reported 3 per cent increase in global sales at 26,855 units in February from the same month last year.

During the month, Jaguar sold 4,595 units, up 27 per cent with increased sales of the XF, and the XJ, the company said, adding Land Rover sold 22,260 units in February, down slightly when compared to the same month last year.

"February sales were up in almost every major market: 20 per cent in Asia Pacific, 20 per cent in North America, 15 per cent in the UK, and 6 per cent in Europe," Jaguar Land Rover said in a statement.

In China, sales were down by 22 per cent reflecting the Chinese New Year falling in February this year and January last year, it added.

Commenting on the sale performance, Phil Popham, Director of Group Sales Operations, said: "Jaguar Land Rovers sales momentum continues with strong sales performance in February across most major markets. In China, our sales were influenced by the New Year celebrations."
