Jet Airways shares jumped 16 per cent to close at Rs 505.7 on Friday following reports
that the airline is in stake-sale talk with a foreign airline. Some media reports suggest that Etihad Airways may buy some stake in the company.
The stock closed at Rs 505.75, up 15.85 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Jet Airways in the first week of this month had said it
will retire $600-million debt by the end of this financial year and lease back of some its aircraft.
The total debt on the company's balance sheet stood at Rs 12,000 crore by the end of the September quarter, against $2.4 billion in the June quarter
