Amazon is likely to unveil Kindle Fire 2 this month, reports said.
The reports suggested that Amazon is looking at launching
Kindle Fire 2 at a July 31 event. The new $199 7-inch Kindle Fire 2 is likely to have a higher resolution of 1,280 by 800-pixel, according to the reports.
Reports quoting sources said Kindle Fire 2 would have a camera and physical volume-control buttons. But no information was available on the memory size and the processor which would power Kindle Fire 2.
Recently, Google ventured into the tablet space by launching Nexus 7, pitting it directly against Amazon's Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble Inc.
The
Nexus 7 costs $199, the same that Amazon and Barnes & Noble charge for their tablets.
