LG has announced the launch of its new flagship and much talked about smartphone, the G3, at a global event late on Tuesday night.

The LG G3 boasts a 5.5-inch QHD display with 25601440 pixels resolution or 2K pixels resolution. It has a metal finished body and a thick bezel. LG's signature rear keys are a part of the G3 as well. The phone is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU, and is paired with 3GB of RAM. Running Android KitKat, LG has added its own customized UI. On connectivity front, it supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS and NFC. The phone comes with 32GB internal memory and 128GB expandable memory support.

On the back of the phone, there is a 13 MP camera with OIS+ which is paired with a flash light and laser-based auto focus sensor. The auto-focus sensor added to the camera is aimed at capturing sharper images within a short duration. There is also a 2.1 MP camera onboard. The company claims to have reduced the number of pre-installed apps by merging similar apps into one. Pre-installed apps can be deleted to get more free space.

The LG G3 is packed with a 3000 mAh battery and also supports wireless charging. It will be available in metallic black, silk white, shine gold, moon violet and burgundy. LG is also looking at a 16GB variant of the phone which will come with 2GB of RAM.

As per communication, the phone will start shipping in South Korea on May 28, followed by the worldwide rollout.
