One M8, the new flagship smartphone from HTC, was supposed to go on sale in India from May 7. However, limited stocks of the smartphone have already arrived in the country.
At a price of Rs 49,900, the HTC One M8 will compete against the recently-launched Samsung Galaxy S5, upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 and Apple iPhone 5S.
According to Manish Khatri of Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom, "very limited number of units are (being) shipped into the country as of now. Depending on the size of the retailer, we are being billed at maximum of two to three units. The next stock is expected to come in just before the launch date".
At the moment, HTC is not running any promotional offers, such as buyback or cash back scheme. However, customers need not wait for them as most stores these days offer an exchange.
Meanwhile, last year's flagship HTC One (Single SIM), which has been discontinued by the company, is now available at Rs 25,000 in the grey market. The price for the Dual SIM variant has come down to Rs 36,000.
While there isn't much resale value of the Single SIM model, one can get up to Rs 25,000 for the Dual SIM variant, if it's in good working condition.
