Several Punjab-based vendors have started feeling the heat after the shutting down of
Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant due to violence, as fresh orders have been put on hold by the company.
Terming the shutting down of the
Manesar plant after the violence as "shocking", industry representatives asked the Haryana authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest to put the business on track.
"Our supplies to Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant have been stopped completely after the violence incident hit the plant," Punjab-based GNA Group Director Ranbir Singh said.
The company supplies propelling shaft assemblies and intermediate shaft assemblies for
Maruti's 'Swfit' and 'Dzire' models.
The company monthly supplies auto components worth of Rs 4 crore to Maruti Suzuki. "Almost 70 per cent of our supplies to Maruti Suzuki have been affected," he said.
Asked whether the company received any indication from Maruti about when to supply fresh orders, he replied in negative.
