Microsoft Corp is expected to showcase an early preview version of Windows 9 in September.
The Verge reported that the new operating system is expected to be like Windows 8 but will compensate on missing features.
Microsoft is said to have been working on the release for several months, adding different features to make it ready for the preview.
The internal features of Windows 9 would most likely include a new mini Start Menu and an early version of Cortana. The new operating system will feature a virtual desktop and there will be a removal of the charms bar feature, the report added.
