Nissan Motors would reportedly
launch its new urban utility vehicle Evalia by the end of September 2012. The vehicle that was showcased at the New Delhi Auto Show in January 2012 would go up for sale during Diwali season in India and would be reportedly priced somewhere around Rs 11 lakhs.
The vehicle would be pitched against MUVs like Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo and help the company in expanding its range of products in India.
Evalia will be have 1.5 litre dCi engine with a 5 speed manual transmission unit that is similar to Nissan Sunny. The powertrain will deliver an impressive maximum power of 85 bhp.
The car is going to be the first-ever multi purpose vehicle with sliding doors in its price bracket.
Nissan Motor India Private Ltd has reported a sale of 4167 units in June against 1632 units a year ago, registering a growth of 155 per cent.
