Nokia has officially announced that it plans to launch the much talked about
808 PureView phone first in India and Russia this month. First unveiled at the
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March, this smartphone features a camera with a high resolution 41MP sensor with Carl Zeiss optics.
While the phone captures default images at 5 MP resolution, it uses a new oversampling technology which can be used to zoom in the picture without losing clarity.
Running on
Symbian Belle, the 808 PureView also has 1080p HD video capture with Nokia Rich Recording for clear sound. The phone has Dolby Headphone technology onboard that offers superb audio playback.
While we wait for the smartphone to be officially hit the stores, you can check out the report on the
hands-on experience with the phone in the May issue of
Gadgets & Gizmos.
