I never met Steve Jobs, nor did I ever attend one of his legendary keynotes and I am not fond of black turtlenecks, or any turtleneck for that matter. But, Steve Jobs was a visionary, a person who comes along once every generation.

He effectively invented the personal computer, created the truly personal digital device in the iPod, the phone that changed the market and while I might be typing this on an Android device, it was the iPhone and iPad that changed everything. For please, let's not forget the movies, the animation studio he founded - Pixar changed the way we all watch animated features.

Of course, I will bring up the fact that Jobs, an adopted child, did what he did after a spiritual visit to India where he experimented with psychedelic substances like LSD. That trip in the mid-1970s deeply impacted him. Possibly, that visit to India in his early twenties was what inspired him to create what he did later in life.

But this much I know, I feel genuinely sad today at the loss of a man I never knew, but one whose products have changed the way I live today. Rest in Peace Steve Jobs.
