
Electronics firm Panasonic's India arm on Thursday launched its new octacore processor-powered smartphone P55 NOVO at a price tag of Rs 9,290.
The phone, with a 5.3-inch HD display, will sport an integrated infrared (IR) blaster that allows the handset to send various commands to the infrared-based TV, set-top box, air conditioners or any other such equipment with IR sensing capability.
The phone is also integrated with Peel Smart Remote app which turns the smartphone into a universal home control.
"With consumer priorities changing radically, we believe in enhancing customer experience by providing them with smart technology on the go," said Manish Sharma, managing director of Panasonic India.
"With the new smartphone, we are here to to offer a new dimension wherein the model has been specially designed to provide easy accessibility to consumers looking for a single app to control all home devices."
The P55 Novo will run an octacore 1.4GHz processor with a support of 1 GB-RAM and 8 GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB.
It brings on board a 13-mega pixel rear camera with triple LED flash for low-light photography.
In addition, the 5-mega pixel front camera will also come with an LED flash enabling the device to click better selfies. The phone will draw its power from a 2,500-mAH battery.
