Japanese
auto major Nissan on Tuesday
launched its multi-utility vehicle (MUV) Evalia priced between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company also plans to launch its 10 new models in India by 2015-16, including the Datsun brand, as it seeks to be a significant player in the country.
Nissan Evalia debuted at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and will be pitted against Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the recently launched Maruti Ertiga .
The Evalia that will be available in four variants, all diesel, will be powered by Renault's 1.5-litre K9K dCi engine.
