RCom unveils India's first Android CDMA tablet at Rs 12,999

Named Reliance CDMA tab, it boasts of a capacitive touch display of 7 inch and has Android v2.3 onboard.

CDMA subscribers have a reason to smile as the first Android tablet for CDMA users hit the market on Tuesday. After launching an affordable tablet for GSM users, Reliance Communications has now introduced a tablet for CDMA subscribers, at an affordable price of Rs 12,999.

Named Reliance CDMA tab, this boasts a capacitive touch display of 7 inch and has Android v2.3 onboard. The specs are similar to the GSM tablet - 512 MB RAM, 2 MP rear camera and up to 32GB expandable memory card slot.

The set of preloaded applications include Documents To Go, Facebook, YouTube, Gmail, BigFlix for movies on demand, and Tango for video chat.

Announcing the launch of Reliance CDMA Tab, Sanjay Behl, Group Head - Brand & Marketing, Reliance Communications, said: "Having redefined the Tab market in the country last year with the launch and roaring success of Reliance 3G Tab, we are now, yet again, the first to introduce the country's first CDMA Tab. With the rapid increase in data consumption in India and with Reliance's superior HSD Network in over 1000 towns, the launch of the Reliance CDMA Tab is another step to carry forward our mission of Wirefree India."

Priced affordably at Rs 12,999, the CDMA Tab is also available with monthly and annual discount plans for data usage.
