Review: Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos
Not many dual-SIM Android smartphoes are available in the market. This one is worth a look.

Samsung has been doing well in both the Android space as well as the entrylevel dual SIM phones. The company has smartly managed to combine the two segments in the Galaxy Ace Duos, thus catering to the desire of dual SIM users to own an Android smartphone. This smartphone has two SIM slots- for CDMA and GSM cards. Unlike most phones that only support one active call, here both SIM cards remain active at all times, even during calls. While answering call on the CDMA device, the call on the GSM one is on waiting. A SIM switch key has been placed at the right panel that makes CDMA or GSM the primary SIM. While accessing calls, sending text messages or even browsing through the phonebook, a 'C' for CDMA and 'G' for GSM indicates which SIM you are on. Also, while making calls, one can select any of the two networks as both appear at the bottom of the keypad. Similarly, while sending messages, user can select the network at the last moment itself.
Like any other Android smartphone, even the Galaxy Ace Duos has Google set of services on board. These include Gmail, Search, Android MarektPlace, etc. Also, for downloading applications from the Android Marketplace, the Google account has to be configured first. However, there is also the option of download apps from Samsung App Store. Other than the regular features, the phone has Think Free Office and Task Manager onboard. As the device manages to perform most of the tasks with ease, it doesn't really score well with heavy graphic games and applications. Also, other Android handsets in this price category usually run on 1GHz processor whereas the Ace Duos runs on a 832MHz processor. Lastly, this phone has a 1650mAh battery that manages operations over both the connections for a day with average use.
