Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is not as powerful as it looks
It is hard to call the Galaxy Mega 5.8 big. It is without doubt a giant in comparison to the big five-inchers.

It is hard to call the Galaxy Mega 5.8 big. It is without doubt a giant in comparison to the big five-inchers.
Like the Note II, this phone isn't easy to grip. Throughout the review, we feared the phone will slip out of our hands. Plus, it is too big for any pocket.
The overall design is very similar to other Galaxy devices. The TFT LCD display has 540x960p resolution, while there is a very glossy plastic at the back. Remove the back cover and you have a huge 2600 mAh battery and two microSIM slots.
The UI is the same, but press the setting icon in the keyboard for long and you can call a smaller keyboard that is conducive to single hand typing. The extra real estate makes it easy to read websites, watch videos and play games. But the low resolution is a dampener all the while.
Plus, the Mega 5.8 is not as powerful as it looks and it powered by a 1.4 Ghz dual-core processor and 1.5GB RAM. This is good for daily tasks, but slows down the phone while playing heavy games or running some apps in the background.
The 8MP camera onboard captured sharp and detailed images during daytime, though with very iffy colour reproduction. Images captured indoors were not that impressive.
The 2600 mAh battery used is good enough to last a day.
