
Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of its two new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge for the Indian market, at a press conference in New Delhi. Announced earlier this month during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the smartphones will go on sale starting April 10.
Breaking free from the typical Samsung smartphone design, both the flagship smartphones have got a refreshing look.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.1 Quad HD display with 25601440 pixel resolution and 557pixel per inch. Running on Android Lollipop operating system, it has got Exynos Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5Ghz Octacore application processor and is paired with 3GB of RAM. It weights 138 grams and packs in 2550mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge shares a similar spec sheet as of the Samsung Galaxy S6 apart from the battery and changes in the dimensions. In addition, it has got a dual edge display. Even this smartphone features a 5.1inch Quad HD(25601440) Super AMOLED display with 577ppi and dual edge. It weights 132 grams and has got a 2660mAh battery onboard.
Both the flagship smartphones focuses on imaging too and have got a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. To be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, these phones do not support expandable memory. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have built-in wireless charging support and various connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, IR Remote, LTE, etc.
The pre-booking of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be open from Monday and the phones will be available starting April 10.
The Galaxy S6 is priced at Rs 49,900 for 32GB, Rs 55,900 for 64GB and Rs 60,900 for 128GB.
The Galaxy S6 Edge has been priced at Rs 58,900, Rs 64,900 and Rs 70,900 for 32GB, 64GB and 128GB respectively.
Samsung is also offering wide range of benefits including one time screen replacement for the first year for those who prebook any of these two smartphones.
