Skoda Rapid, the new entry-level sedan from the Czech automaker, will be soon introduced in the Indian market. The automaker has begun the production of Skoda Rapid at its Chakan plant, near Pune. Skoda Rapid is the first car f
rom the automaker which has been designed exclusively keeping in mind the special needs of the Indian consumers. It will be exclusively manufactured in India as well.
Skoda Rapid will be introduced in the market soon, a senior official of the company said, adding that the car will offer lots of space and room for five persons. The car will be offered in both diesel and petrol engines. Skoda Rapid will be positioned as an entry-level mid-sized sedan.
The roll-out of Skoda Rapid is part of the Czech automaker's plan to double sales globally to at least 1.5 million units by 2018.
The car is likely to compete with Toyota's Etios, Maruti's Swift DZire, Hyundai's Accent and M&M's Verito.
