SpiceJet, the low-cost passenger carrier, on Friday announced a high level managerial change, as its chief commercial officer Kaneswaran Avili stepped down.
According to the homegrown airline, Avili has stepped down effective April 10, 2015.
Avili joined SpiceJet on April 1, 2014, and according to SpiceJet he has been a key driving force behind several innovative market stimulation and revenue management efforts that helped drive the private carrier's overall market growth in the country.
"Kanesh helped create the 'SpiceJet effect', which through demand stimulation and the refusal to accept half-empty aircraft flying around, especially in low season, has galvanised the entire Indian aviation market into high growth mode, while at the same time helping improve revenue performance," said Sanjiv Kapoor, chief operating officer, SpiceJet.
The company added that verticals under Avili will now report directly to Kapoor.
