The government's measures to achieve better fiscal management could be a key for ratings agencies, a Standard and Poor's analyst said on Friday.
Takahira Ogawa, a director sovereign ratings at S&P, said it could be more important for the country's rating as the fiscal deficit number alone would not give a true picture of the country's fiscal consolidation.
Ogawa also said the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is mindful of the quality of fiscal consolidation.
