Tata Motors global
sales fell 22.36 per cent in February to 98,837 units against 1,27,318 units sold in the same month last year.
Tata Motors group's global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, along with the distributed brands in India, Jaguar and Land Rover.
Total passenger vehicle sales stood at 46,662 units in February, down 32.82 per cent from 69,461 units in the same month previous year.
Commercial vehicle sales were down 9.82 per cent to 52,175 units from 57,857 units in February 2012.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were up at 35,485 units in February, against 32,257 units in the year-ago month.
While
sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand stood at 7,102 units, Land Rover sales were at 28,383 units during the month, the company said in a statement.
Shares of Tata Motors were trading 1.58 per cent down at Rs 299.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange in afternoon trade.
