A 39 per cent spurt in sales of cars from
luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) helped
Tata Motors clock a 6 per cent increase in its global sales in June.
The Tata Group automobile company sold 94,055 units in the month under review, an increase of 6 per cent over the same period last year.
The company said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 46,159 units in June, a jump of 7 per cent from the same month last year. Commercial vehicle sales were up by 6 per cent to 47,896 units from the same month last year, Tata Motors added.
Sales from JLR were at 28,215 units in June, up 39 per cent from the same month last year.
While
sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand decreased by 5 per cent last month at 3,829 units, Land Rover sales were up 49 per cent at 24,386 units, it added.
The Tata Motors group's global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, along with the distributed brands in India, Jaguar and Land Rover.
