Toshiba launches glassless 3D, 4K TVs

Its RZ1 model features a face tracking application which detects the viewers' position and configures the picture for optimum viewing.

With aggressive pricing and a larger dealership network, Toshiba India is aiming for the top slot in the LED TV market this fiscal. Towards this goal, the company on Wednesday launched its 'Thinking LED' range of TVs. With this the company now has TVs in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,00,000 range.

Toshiba's flagship TV model is the RZ1, the world's first large-screen glass-free 3D model with 4k2k resolution. The TV features a face tracking application which detects the viewers' position and configures the picture for optimum viewing.

The company also launched a new range of PCs and laptops, including the Satellite U840W featuring a 21:9 cinematic display. This Ultrabook features a super-wide 1792x768 resolution LED backlit screen coupled with Harman/Kardon stereo speakers with SRS Premium 3D sound, making it ideal for cinema lovers. The U840W is priced at a very competitive Rs 63,500.

The other launches on the day include the LX830, a 23-inch all-in-one PC with Intel's latest Ivy Bridge processors for Rs 64,000. The Satellite C870, meanwhile, is a 17-inch basic laptop for Rs 33,250.

The new models were launched by cricketer and brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, who will be seen in the company's latest ad campaign as well.
