Around 75 lakh trucks and tempos went on a daylong token strike to protest the
recent diesel price hike from Tuesday-Wednesday midnight.
The call for strike has been made by the All India Motor Transport Congress. With large number of
trucks staying off roads, transportation of essential commodities would be hit badly.
The strike coincides with the Bharat Bandh called by the BJP to protest the government's decision to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail and hike in diesel price.
