Twitter has acquired Lucky Sort, a
start-up which specialises in data analysis, a move that would help the microblogging site find new ways to increase its revenue. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Twitter is targeting new forms of advertisements and expanding to new markets to boost its revenue.
Lucky Sort's Chief Executive Officer Noah Pepper said on the company's site that many of its staff would be moving to San Francisco "to join Twitter's revenue engineering department."
Noah Pepper, who is also the co-founder of the start-up, said. "Two years ago I started Lucky Sort with several friends. Our goal was to make huge document sets easier to analyze, summarize and visualize by building elegant and user friendly tools for text analysis."
"We'll be helping current customers transition off our system in the coming months such that we can focus fully on our future at Twitter," Pepper added.
