Microsoft on October 29 announced the launch of the much awaited
Windows Phone 8 platform for smartphones. The new OS supports multiple cores over single-core processor and has got a new Start screen.
Other highlighting features include Internet Explorer 10 browser, Nokia Maps, NFC, Mobile Wallet, Kid's Corner etc.
Here are some of the new Windows Phone 8 devices that are ready for launch:
NOKIA LUMIA 920: The
flagship smartphone from Nokia on WP 8, the company referred it as the "the most innovative smartphone in the world". Along with the operating system, the smartphone will have the Carl Zeiss lens and the PureView technology onboard.
The Lumia 920 is likely to get launched in India during the second half of November.

NOKIA LUMIA 820: Announced along with the Lumia 920, the
Lumia 820 will be a mid segment device running WP8. Even this smartphone will have a dual-core processor with 8GB onboard storage space.

Memory: 8 GB storage, microSD up to 32 GB, 1 GB RAM

SAMSUNG ATIV S: Just before the Nokia Lumia announcement, Samsung took the wraps off its Ativ S making it the first WP8 smartphone. This smartphone is 8.7mm thick and has got an aluminum chassis. It is likely to be launched in India during November.

HTC WINDOWS PHONE 8X: This is the flagship
smartphone on Windows Phone 8 platform from HTC. The spec sheet indicates that it will compete against the best from Samsung and Nokia. HTC is hosting an event in Singapore on the 1st November and it is likely that the company will launch the WP device there.
