
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's flagship smartphone for the year 2014, the Mi 4, has witnessed a price drop in China.
Applicable from April 8, Xiaomi has announced that the Mi 4 will be available for 1,799 Yuan (about $290). Earlier, the smartphone was priced at 1,999 Yuan (about $322) for the 16GB variant.
However, the company is not looking to change the price of the Mi 4 in India. A company spokesperson responded to BT's SMS saying, "no plans right now".
The Mi 4 was launched in India this February through flash sales on Flipkart. Its 16-GB variant has been priced at Rs 19,999 and the 64-GB variant is available for Rs 23,999.
Recently, Xiaomi India head Manu Jain tweeted that Mi Phones will be available at The Mobile Stores in Delhi.
The Mi 4 features a 5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080pixel resolution. It runs on Android KitKat operating system and has a 2.5-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU paired with 3 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi entered the Indian smartphone market with the Mi 3 in July last year.
