Looks like Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has hit yet another bulls eye in India with its flagship Mi 4 handset as 25,000 units of the device went out of stock in mere 15 seconds on Tuesday.
The company hosted the first ever flash sale for its Mi 4 handset starting 2 PM on Tuesday exclusively via online retailer Flipkart.
As is quite the routine these days, the Mi 4 went out of stock within 15 seconds after it went live. Vice president of international for Xiaomi, Hugo Barra took to his official Twitter handle to make the announcement
According to Xiaomi, over 3,00,000 people had registered for the first flash sale. Sadly, only 25,000 units of the Mi 4 were made available by the company.
Registrations for the second flash sale shall begin at 6 PM IST today. We have no clear word yet as to how many units of the Mi 4 will be made available in its next flash sale.
Meanwhile, the company has also annoucned that the 64GB variant of the Mi 4 will go on sale in India on February 24, 2015 via the same flash sale model through Flipkart. The 64GB variant of the Mi 4 has been priced at Rs 23,999. The annoucnement regarding the same was made on Monday, a day before the 16GB variant went on sale.
Clearly, that has not marred sales of the Mi 4 16GB variant as the response has been phenomenal.
The company will further hold another flash sale for its Redmi Note 4G phablet at 5PM IST on Tuesday.
