1 lakh Xiaomi RedMi 1S units sold out in 4.2 seconds

Another Tuesday and this means another bumper sale for Xiaomi. Flipkart, which is the official retail partner of Xiaomi, had put 1,00,000 units of the RedMi 1S smartphone for sale. It went out of stock in seconds.

The sale started at 2 pm and finished before many prospective buyers could even click on the Buy button. The sale was open to only the people who had registered for it in advance.

Later, Manu Jain, Xiaomi's head for India, tweeted, "Today's sale: went out of stock in 4.2 seconds. Thanks for all your love and support," he said.

The RedMi 1S has a 4.7-inch screen with 720P resolution. It has 1GB RAM, a quad-core processor, 8GB internal storage and support for microSD card. The phone supports dual-SIM feature. It runs MiUI, a custom ROM based on Android.
