
Xiaomi has slashed the price of its budget smartphone Redmi 2 by Rs 1,000. Starting Tuesday, the device will be available at Rs 5,999.
The Chinese handset maker announced the price cut on its website: "Redmi 2 - Now at an even better value. Snapdragon 410 64-bit / 4G Dual SIM / 4.7" IPS HD display 8MP camera f/2.2, now Rs 1,000 off".
The phone, launched in January for Rs 6,999, is available for as low as Rs 3,999 under an exchange offer on online marketplace Flipkart.
Redmi 2 has a 4.7-inch screen with 1280 x 720 px display. It runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm 410 quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. In addition, the phone features an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
