Yes Bank to focus on retail segment for growth

The bank had so far been focussing on corporate and government sector for business.

Privately-owned Yes Bank has decided to train its focus on retail banking in order to grow its current account and savings account (CASA) portfolio.

The bank had so far been focussing on corporate and government sector for business.



Speaking to reporters, Sonu Bhasin, group president (Branch Banking), said: "Our aim is to grow our retail customers by around 70 per cent every year."

Towards that, the bank is expanding its branch network with a target of having 750 branches from the around 360 branches it has currently.

According to R. Ravichander, group president, the bank increased its network in south India to around 55 branches this financial year. Officials said the bank had not focussed on south India earlier and this will be changed now.

According to officials, the bank is targeting a total business (deposits and advances) of Rs 150,000 crore by 2015.
