Google doodle on Thursday is celebrating the 151st birth anniversary of Claude Debussy, a French music composer who was one of the most prolific figures associated with impressionist music.
The animated doodle features one of his most popular pieces, Clair de lune (Moonlight). The moonlit riverside scene which progresses to the sound of the piece, the third movement of his most famous piano suites, Suite bergamasque (1890-1905).
In the animated sequence, lights in the streets and houses flicker on and off in time to the music as the silhouettes of cars, boats and cyclists pass by, smoke rises from chimneys and rain begins to fall.
The scene also depicts rain falling on the river and it concludes with two different boats crossing paths and the rowers sharing a red coloured umbrella.
Some of his known works are: Prelude a l'apres-midi d'un faune, Pelleas et Melisande, Suite Bergamasque, La Cathedrale Engloutie and La Mer.
