Some Moto G users in India are facing network problems, Motorola has acknowledged. However, the company claims it has already resolved the issue and updated the status for its customers on their Facebook page. The update mentions that Moto G smartphones with IMEI number starting 3533 had been impacted, but now the problem has been resolved. Motorola says the affected smartphones have now been registered with network carriers in India and users will be able to activate their devices, which they could not earlier.
Affected customers, though, say they are still not able to connect to telecom networks. Motorola had suggested customers restart their devices. When customers complained that the problem still persisted, they were asked to call customer care, which asks them to wait for two more days. Customers who have placed a request for the replacement of the Moto G on Sunday haven't heard from Flipkart yet.
Earlier on Sunday, the company has sent out emails to customers saying, "We have uncovered an activation problem with some Moto G devices sold in India whereby some handsets are not currently connecting to the carrier network. To make sure this does not impact your Moto G, we are really sorry but we have had to recall your device back to the warehouse. Flipkart are sending you out a brand new one which should be with you in 7-8 days."
The company posted a similar message on their Facebook page where they acknowledged that an activation problem with some Moto G devices sold in India as they have been shipped with IMEI numbers that are not yet registered with carriers.
