
At a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, Google launched its Nexus smartphones 5X and 6P in India. Both these smartphones were unveiled last month in the US.
The Nexus 5X has been developed by LG and packs in a 5.2 inch full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm 808 processor and is paired with 2GB of RAM. It has 12.3 MP rear camera and 5 MP front loaded camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2700 mAh battery.
For Nexus 6P, on the other hand, Google has tied up with Huawei. It will have a 5.7inch WQHD display with Gorillas Glass 4 protection. Powered by Qualcomm 810 chipset, it has got 3 GB of RAM. There is a 12.3 MP rear camera, 8 MP front facing camera and 3450 mAh battery.
Both these smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and supports USB Type C charging port. There is also a new feature Now on Tap for accessing more information, which is based on machine learning.
These smartphones also support Nexus Imprint, a fingerprint sensor that can be used to unlock the device and for payments too. Nexus Imprint continues to read the finger print and enhance with time.
Both the Nexus smartphones will be available for pre-booking starting Tuesday in online as well as offline retail and will go on sale from October 21.
The Nexus 5X 16 GB variant will be available for Rs 31,990 whereas the 32GB will be priced at Rs 35,990 at over 3,000 offline channels and Amazon.in for online space. It also comes with a few prebooking offers including free screen replacement worth Rs 6,500 for a limited period.
The Huawei 6P that comes with unibody design will also be available exclusively on Flipkart and leading offline retail channel. The 16 GB variant is priced at Rs 39,999 and 32 GB for Rs 42,999. This one will have EMI options and Airtel 4G data scheme for 6 months.
